Team Building and Corporate Packages
The Winnipeg Rowing Club offers team building and corporate experiences rowing on the historic Red River. Team building packages are customizable and can include meeting or event space rental, catering and on water coaching. The WRC offers team building packages for groups from 8 people up to 24+. Half day and full day options are available. No rowing experience required!
Rowing Experiences
Various team building packages can be put together for groups with a minimum of 8 people. We offer sculling options (rowing with 2 oars) for smaller groups and sweep options for larger groups (rowing with one oar).
Packages include the use of rowing shells, coach(es) and safety boat(s). For more information about rowing team building options, please contact the WRC at manager@winnipegrowingclub.ca.
Half Day Example Rowing Experiences:
- For groups of 8 to 12 people, we’ll start with a safety overview and indoor rowing demonstration. Then participants will try ‘dockside’ rowing before getting into a quad rowing shell. After some on water instruction, participants will take a short break or have lunch before heading out onto the water again with the goal of all four rowers rowing together as a team.
Time commitment is approximately 3 hours excluding any time for lunch. - For groups of 12 to 24 people, start with a safety overview and indoor rowing demonstration. Then participants will try ‘dockside’ rowing before getting into an eight (8+) rowing boat. After some on water instruction, participants will take a short break or have lunch before heading onto the water again with the goal of all eight rowers pulling together and racing the 8+ down the river. Time commitment is approximately 3 hours excluding any time for lunch.
Cost
Cost varies based on the amount of time spent rowing, if additional experienced rowers are needed to fill a boat or for coxswains to steer an 8+. Includes one hour use of the clubhouse pre or post rowing experience. Cost for lunch or coffee/snacks is extra. Please inquire about renting the boathouse facility for an extended time or about a full day option. Space for up to 50 people is available in the WRC’s Connacher Hall overlooking the river.
