Junior Rowing

Winnipeg Rowing Club offers Junior (under 19 years old) and Senior B (19 and 20 years old) rowing programs, from Introductory to Rowing Program, to Competitive Programs. Please see below for detailed information.

JUNIOR & SENIOR B COMPETITIVE PROGRAM (U21)

The Junior Competitive and Senior B Program is for athletes under 21 years old.  Athletes compete throughtout the summer and fall at various local and national regattas.  The program focuses on developing rowing skill, improving fitness, and providing competition experience at developmentally appropriate regattas for individual athletes and the U21 team.  Regular attendance, especially during the on-water season, is expected in order to form crews.  Program participants will have previous rowing exposure.

The program is based on the Rowing Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development model.  Regular attendance is expected from those in the program to facilitate training in crew boats.
