Two Winnipeg rowers have received Sport Manitoba Athlete Assistance Grants. Paul Thiessen and Kevin Kowalyk are both current members of the Canadian National Rowing team. The athlete assistance grants provide funding to help athletes continue to train at the highest level.
WRC’s long time member Andrew Lamont has been nominated for the 2014 Great-West Life Volunteer of the Year Award for his contribution to the sport of rowing. The annual award will be presented to one of the six nominees on April 28 at Sport Manitoba’s Night of Champions event.
