The Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame & Museum is excited to work with the Winnipeg Rowing Club to prepare an exhibit featuring the rich rowing history of Manitoba, and particularly those athletes, builders and teams who have represented the Winnipeg Rowing Club. As one of the oldest sports clubs in the province, and with demonstrated success on the National and International stage from the turn of the 20th century until the present, the WRC has been a centre for rowing in Winnipeg and all of Manitoba.
To make the exhibit a success the MB Sports Hall of Fame & Museum is seeking input from WRC’s current and former members, and specifically loans of artifacts, photographs and archival material from members of the rowing community. Items of particular interest are:
- Clothing with the WRC logo
- Awards such as trophies, medals, plaques and certificates
- Photographs
- Archival material such as programmes, posters, telegrams, and documents related to the WRC or rowing events in the province
- Any other items that illustrate the history of rowing in Manitoba or by Manitobans on the world stage
If you have information to add or artifacts to consider, please contact Andrea Reichert, Collections Manager, Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame at (204) 925-5935 or andrea.reichert@sportmanitoba.ca.
