Five Manitoba rowers participated in RCA’s National Rowing Championships, held in Welland Ontario on November 8-10. The event was marred by very poor racing conditions as the weather caused the cancellation of several events as well as a change to the schedule for finals day on Sunday. Despite the conditions, Marianne Bergmann placed a very impressive 6th in the final time trail of the Women’s single event. Kevin Kowalyk placed 11th in the final of the Men’s 1x time trial. Loch Inglis and Riley MacCharles (Men’s 2-), Paul Thiessen (Men’s 1x) and Pat Thiessen (Lwt Men’s 1x) also competed at NRC, but did not race finals because of the change in format due to poor weather.
