Four WRC rowers, Marianne Bergmann, Kaitlin Rempel, Patrick Thiessen and Connor Vogt, headed to New Jersery to race in the US National Club Championships. Hosted by Camden County Board of Freeholders, and Rutgers University Alumni Crew at Camden the event was held July 11-15 on the Cooper River in Camden County, N.J.
Featuring more than 1,600 athletes, the event was a great experience for the Winnipeg athletes. Marianne Bergmann and Kaitlin Rempel advanced to the Senior Women’s 1x final and placed 3rd and 4th respectively. The duo teamed up in the Senior Women’s 2x final rowing to 4th place. Marianne also advanced with 1st place finishes in the heats and semis to the Intermediate Women’s 1x final where she placed 5th.
