WRC WINS 3 GOLDS AT 126th HENLEY REGATTA
While the world watches Olympic rowing, the Winnipeg Rowing Club sent a strong contingent of athletes to St. Catharines, Ontario, for Canada’s most elite rowing competition – the 126th Royal Canadian Henley Regatta.
After six days of fierce competition among more than 150 rowing clubs from across North America, the WRC captured three Henley golds:
Jim McMullen Trophy Awarded to the winner of the Senior B Women’s Single Crew – Claudia Blandford
Thorne Family Trophy Awarded to the winner of the Junior Women’s Double Crew – Francisca Strange / Nia Perron
Carl Dorland Trophy Awarded to the winner of the Senior B Women’s Quad Crew – Claudia Blandford / Nia Perron / Francisca Strange / Annie Eastwood
ABOUT HENLEY
The 126th annual Royal Canadian Henley Regatta took place this year from August 4 to 10. Since the “Henley” settled in St. Catharines in 1903, it has grown to become the largest sporting event of its kind in North America, representing the best in North American rowing.
